The University of Strathclyde Business School Executive MBA is offered in Switzerland since 1996 and managed by the Swiss Management Forum. It is a part-time programme in a 180 credit format. Students can stay in their jobs and take their entire course in just two years. The programme combines the benefits of learning with immediate practical application within your working environment. Some of the best core learning MBA material is available for study at home with textbooks and current articles, videos, tapes and software supplied at no extra cost. All the teaching is done by internationally renown professors from Strathclyde University that come and teach in Zurich at the Airport Conference Center on average one or two weekends per month. The Strathclyde MBA is also offered in 9 other international centers in Asia, Europe and the Gulf Region, allowing students to sit exams or modules at other centres as well. The MBA runs over 2 years and is structured in 5 modules: 1. Module: The Learning Manager It is designed to provide you with an holistic, integrated understanding of personal and managerial effectiveness. 2. Module: Management Fundamentals and Processes It examines the languages, concepts, skills and application of specialist areas from the perspective of the general manager. The five distinct areas are Marketing Management, Operations Management, Managing People in Organisations, Managing Financial Resources and Managing Information. 3. Module: Management, Strategy and the International Environment It develops your ability to work as a manager in a modern organisation through integrating a wide range of tools, techniques and theories relevant to day-to-day management and strategic change. 4. Module: Personal/Subject Development It allows you to choose which area you would like to develop further, either by continuing a generalist approach or by studying a particular subject in greater depth. While some of the elective subjects are available on a flexible learning basis, many course members take the advantage of the wide range of electives offered as one-week units at the Business School in Glasgow each year during June and July. The attendance in Glasgow also give an excellent opportunity to meet "Strathclyders" from all over the world. 5. Module: The MBA Project It examines in depth a managerial, organisational or environmental issue, and allows you to put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired during your studies.

Candidates must demonstrate academic qualifications as well as substantial professional experience to qualify for the Strathclyde MBA. For example: Higher Education Qualifications: University degree or equivalent and a minimum of three to four years relevant work experience in a responsible position. Professional Qualifications: Swiss, German and Austrian Federal Diplomas and other qualifications not including those above (subject to acceptance by Admissions Committee) and a minimum of six to eight years relevant work experience in a responsible position. The Strathclyde MBA is fully conducted in English and all modules take place at the Zurich Airport Conference Center. There are two intakes per year: April and October, application deadlines: end of March and end of September
